Manotick Basement

Maison Blonde was brought on to transform an unfinished basement into a functional, family-friendly space in Manotick, ON. With seven children in the household, our clients needed a space that could flex - a spot for movie nights, games, quiet play, and everyday gathering, all in one.

We grounded the space in warm white oak millwork and a soft, layered palette of sage, cream, and white oak for a look that's as durable as it is inviting. A stone-clad fireplace anchors the main living area, framed by custom built-ins with woven storage that keeps the space tidy without feeling sterile. A kitchenette with brass fixtures and toile wallpaper adds a quiet corner of its own, complete with a bench seat for reading.

Brass hardware and lighting, antiqued mirror, and hand-thrown ceramic accents bring warmth and patina throughout, down to the bathroom. The result is a basement that works as hard as this family does - practical enough for daily life with kids, elevated enough to feel like the rest of the home.
